How does a self-cleaning screen filter clean itself?
As solids build on the stainless-steel mesh the pressure differential rises (or on a set timer), triggering an automatic backwash / scraper cycle that flushes the debris to drain and restores full flow without opening the unit or interrupting the process.
What does a screen filter protect in a RAS?
It traps leaves, scales and coarse-to-medium suspended solids to protect pumps, valves and downstream filtration, and is used as an inline strainer, an intake screen on the water source, or a pre-filter ahead of sand or drum filtration.
Can the mesh size be changed?
